Taught by Stu Sherard — Sanctuary

I Timothy is a book about the local church. It addresses questions like, "What should the local church look like?  How should it be ordered and administered?  What's an elder? What's a deacon?  What do pastors do?  What's the proper role of women in the church and how should the church care for widows?  Why is sound doctrine so important?"

This letter is full of practical counsel for the work of ministry in the local church.  In I Timothy we find not only a description of what life was like in a local Christian church some 30 years after Jesus Christ ministered, but we also have here the Apostle Paul's directives, his instructions, for how Christians are to live together and serve God together.  Valuable lessons for us today.
