Assistant Pastor

I grew up in Pittsburgh, watched the Pirates win the World Series, and the Steelers win 4 Super Bowls. But most importantly, God sent a friend in high school to tell me about Jesus saving death. Early in my senior year, Christ invaded my life and changed everything. That change took on more meaning while in college. At Princeton University, I had my first sense of call to ministry and I met my wife-to-be (Rondi), who is from Memphis, TN.

Since getting married in 1978, we have lived mostly in the West where we both attended graduate school and where I have served churches in Oregon, Arizona, and California. Along the way we had 3 children, who are all married, and now we have 7  grandchildren. Most of all, we have learned to help God’s people see Christ more clearly.

When not working, you will find us hiking, working out, reading, enjoying friends, and traveling. Rondi is an author and a Pilates teacher. Mark plays golf.

Returning to Tucson is a return to a solar powered life. Our calling at this season is to take our years of ministry experience and use it to serve the next generation of church leaders. Mark will do that at Rincon and by coaching church planters. We will do that together serving the church in Serbia, in Southeastern Europe.

Favorite quote? By a pastor of long ago. I have taken all my good deeds, and all my bad, and cast them in a heap before the Lord, and fled from both, and betaken myself to the Lord Jesus Christ; and in Him I have sweet peace. — D. Dickson
